State of Play was upon us once again, and although there were some nice additions to the line-up – including the snazzy looking Modern Warfare campaign trailer – we’re only really here for one reason.
The Last of Us Part 2, the insanely anticipated sequel to the 2013 classic, finally released a plot outlined trailer. Ellie hunts down a group of bandits in search of revenge for the (what we assume) murder of her would-be girlfriend. It’s a simple story premise but going by the previous entry and developer Naughty Dog’s track record, we are in for a fraught, thought-provoking and emotional roller coaster. The trailer showcased gory violence, grotesque infected and ruined cities, all stunningly presented with some top-notch graphics. And did we mention, we get our first confirmed sighting of Joel, so theories of his off-screen demise were incorrect. However, this does not mean by any means that he is safe.
The Last of Us Part 2 will be released on February 21st, 2020, which was the rumoured date, after Ashley Johnson’s near slip-up on an interview a few months ago. We know we will be counting down the days, so be sure to check back for more news on The Last of Us Part 2.
